Führich comments on 2024/25 form: "I haven't met my standards."
Afterwards, the 26-year-old German international spoke on his rather tepid start to the season thus far. Führich has just one goal and one assist to his credit in 11 appearances across all competitions.

VfB Stuttgart and German national team attacker Chris Führich had already lost his starting place in the VfB Stuttgart starting XI to German national team colleague Jamie Leweling prior to iincurring injury over the recent international break. Having successfully made his comeback in a heavily-rotated VfB squad's victory over Kaiserslautern in the Pokal last night, however, the 26-year-old certainly gave VfB trainer Sebastian Hoeneß something to think about.
"I'm happy about [scoring the game-winning] goal and that I was able to help the team," Führich remarked in his post-match interview with Sky afterwards, "It's been difficult. What I've delivered thus far [this year] hasn't matched my [personal] standards."
Even as Stuttgart contest three competitions (league, cup and Champions' League) Führich's deployment stats have remained rather poor. The seven-times-capped German international has started only two league fixtures and not gone the full distance once. In praising his performance last night, Hoeneß indicated that this might change.
“He has certainly not started the season with the momentum he has had in the past,” Hoeneß told Sky,"‘Chris is a very important player for us, who repeatedly creates situations and can draw coverage. He decided the game for us, and that's important for him and even more important for us as a team.”
