On Monday, it was reported that Borussia Mönchengladbach had agreed a deal to sign Kevin Stöger from VfL Bochum on a free transfer.

The deal has now been officially confirmed by Die Fohlen, who have confirmed that the 30-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper on a contract until 2027.

"Kevin is an experienced Bundesliga player and has developed into a real leader in his last few appearances," said Borussia's managing director for sport, Roland Virkus.

"In addition, he provides a lot of goal threat - as a provider with clever passes, from set pieces and crosses, or as a goal scorer."

Stöger, who has been a key player for Bochum since joining from Mainz in 2022, commented:

“I am looking forward to getting to know the team and the coaching staff personally. I want to get the most out of it, I'm extremely hungry and I want to have a successful time here together.”
