Hamburger SV has strengthened its squad with the signing of Jordan Torunarigha from Belgian first division club KAA Gent.

It has proved to be a savvy bit of business from the newly promoted Hanseatic club as they capture the centre-half on a free transfer.

The Berlin native, who trained in the Hertha BSC youth system and became a Bundesliga professional, completed his medical and signed today.

In total, the 27-year-old made a whopping 73 Bundesliga appearances for Hertha Berlin before he left the capital club in 2022.

“I know the Bundesliga and I'm very happy to return to this special league again – especially with a club steeped in tradition like HSV,” Torunarigha said.
