French right-back Valentin Gendrey has joined TSG Hoffenheim from Italian side US Lecce.

“Valentin is a defensively reliable right-back who has internalised the aggressive Italian style of play and has gained a lot of experience in Serie A,” said Hoffenheim interim sporting director Frank Kramer.

"Valentin has been a regular for Lecce in recent years, but he wants to develop his skills further and has therefore decided to take the next step in his career with us in Hoffenheim."

During his three years at Lecce, the 24-year-old right-back played 74 games in Italy's top flight, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.
