VfL Bochum and Philipp Hofmann have agreed to a contract extension which sees his contract run until June 30, 2028.

Hofmann joined Bochum in 2022 and has played 110 competitive games for the club over the past three years.

"My family feels at home in Bochum, the stadium and Castroper Straße have become my second home, VfL is my home.

"So I'm very happy that our time together at VfL will continue," said Hofmann, after the deal was announced.

However, there was some unfortunate news too, as Kevin Vogt is now sidelined due to injury as the club's social media accounts posted.

The veteran had to “undergo minor surgery last week due to persistent knee problems," but the operation "went smoothly" so a fast return is still possible.

It does leave the side in a bit of bothe defensively with Vogt sidelined with Cajetan Lenz who is suspended for their trip to Berlin.
