Holstein Kiel confirm striker signing

Holstein Kiel have announced the signing of Phil Harres from FC Homburg.

Newly-promoted Bundesliga side Holstein Kiel have confirmed the signing of 22-year-old centre-forward Phil Harres.

Harres joins the club from Regionalliga Südwest side FC Homburg, where he scored 28 goals in 43 appearances during the 2023/24 season.

"In Phil Harres, we've found a versatile striker with the potential to develop further, who was the top scorer in the Regionalliga Südwest this season with 24 goals in 34 games," said Holstein Kiel's managing director for sport, Carsten Wehlmann.

“We are confident that Phil will be able to develop further here at Holstein and help us with his qualities."

Harres commented that he's "really looking forward to the new challenge" at Holstein Kiel.

In the past, Holstein have relied on young players who have developed very well. I want to follow the same path, develop personally and help the team and the club to be successful together," said the young striker.

Holstein Kiel have previously signed two players for the 2024/25 season, Andu Kelati from Hoffenheim and Max Geschwill from Sandhausen.
