In an interview with SPORT1, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich shared his thoughts on their upcoming Saturday evening clash with Borussia Dortmund.

“I think Dortmund are very solid defensively. Up front, they have very fast players in Karim Adeyemi and Maxi Beier, and in Guirassy, they have another striker with very good qualities.

“We have to be careful. We have the chance to make a statement and pull away. That's the goal,” the 30-year-old explained.

When asked about the possibility of Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or, Kimmich said they do their best for the striker but confessed Kane is more focused on the team's triumphs.

“The goal is to achieve things as a team to make it possible for him [Kane] to win individual awards.

"But generally speaking, when he's on the pitch, I don't get the impression that he's playing for individual awards, he's a very complete player and plays for the team's success.

"I've never seen him sad in the dressing room because we won 3-0 and he didn't score. He's also someone who wants to put his teammates in the spotlight.

"This mix makes him very special and extremely valuable to us,” said Kimmich, evidently full of praise for the English marksman's mentality.
