Bayern Munich are set to make a late decision on whether to include Jamal Musiala in their squad for Wednesday’s DFB-Pokal away game against VfL Osnabrück.

Musiala has missed Bayern’s first two competitive games of the season after suffering two collapses caused by absence seizures linked to a neurological condition during pre-season.

Now back in team training, the 23-year-old is closing in on a return to the squad.

However, it's currently unclear whether he will be involved against Osnabrück, with Bayern coach Vincent Kompany revealing on Tuesday that a decision will be made closer to the game.

“We’re having daily discussions; we haven’t had any today yet – then we’ll make a decision. He’s trained very well. It’s a question of choosing the right moment; whether that’s tomorrow, at the weekend or next week, I can’t yet say,” Kompany said at a press conference.

Kompany also confirmed that Serge Gnabry remains sideliedn with an adductor injury, while praising the progress of Lennart Karl, who returned to action off the bench in Friday’s 5-1 win over VfB Stuttgart.

“Serge Gnabry isn’t in the squad, but Lennart Karl is back – he’s had his first few minutes on the pitch, which is very good for us," said the Bayern coach.
