Liverpool reject bids from Mainz and Wolfsburg for van den Berg, report claims

The Athletic reports that Liverpool have rejected offers from Mainz and Wolfsburg for Sepp van den Berg.

Sepp van den Berg impressed for Mainz on loan from Liverpool last season and has since expressed his desire to be sold.

However, Liverpool don't appear to be in a rush to offload him, with The Athletic reporting that the Reds have rejected bids from both Mainz and Wolfsburg for the Dutchman.

According to the report, new Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been impressed with van den Berg, and he is therefore set to join the club on their pre-season tour to the United States.

During this trip, the 22-year-old will have the opportunity to present himself to his new manager. After that, it will be clearer what will happen with the defender.

Van den Berg was a key player for Mainz last season, making 33 Bundesliga appearances and scoring three goals.
