1. FC Köln youngster Said El Mala could be on the move in the summer, with Brighton & Hove Albion, Chelsea and Newcastle United having been mentioned among his suitors.
A move to Newcastle now seems unlikely, however, with Sport Bild reporting that the Magpies had an approach turned down by El Mala’s family, who represent the 19-year-old.
The El Mala family reportedly responded to Newcastle’s interest by indicating that the young attacker is leaning towards a move to Brighton.
Köln’s reported asking price of €50 million could prove a stumbling block, however, with earlier reports suggesting that Brighton are only willing to pay €35 million plus bonuses.
