Trapp speaks on Flick's pass-up: "I don't think he'll call back."
Thirty-one-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp secured his team an away win at Bayern right in front of the eyes of German national team trainer Hans Dieter Flick.
The recipient of five national team caps nevertheless had little to say about his latest snub for Germany's October roster.
As the mighty FC Bayern München pushed hard for an equalizer down the stretch on Sunday evening, some acrobatic heroics from SGE keeper Kevin Trapp ensured that his team would leave the Allianz Arena with all three points. It proved a very impressive evening for the Merz native, who has started five times in goal for the German national team.

Trapp remained on top of his game throughout the entire fixture. Perhaps his most brilliant moment came in the 56th, when he had the presence of mind to stop a Robert Lewandowski close-range header with his outstretched foot.
"That was pure instinct," Trapp said afterward, "You don't have much time to think. In such a situation, you simply make yourself as big as possible."
The former national team keeper, who spent three years playing in Ligue 1 with PSG, let some of his Parisian influence slip when praising his side.
"Chapeau to the team," Trapp noted, "It really was a lot of work, but we defended very well. A success like today can prove extremely helpful in getting us some self-confidence and consolidating our strength. We turned a game around in Munich today and that will give us a big boost."
Germany's Bundestrainer was in attendance for the match, receiving the opportunity to watch Trapp's incredible performance live. Trapp made both the 2018 World Cup and 2021 European Champion squads as a back-up keeper.
He also got a call-up for during the September international break, yet it was Arsenal benchwarmer Bernd Leno who got the one test-run start against Lichtenstein. Leno and a once again fit Marc André per-Stegen who got the slots behind Manuel Neuer for the October fixtures.
"I don't think he'll [Flick] will call back and say 'now you can come after all'," Trapp said, "Of course, I'm disappointed. My only influence is my performance. I have to show that he won't be able to bypass me."
