Germany's cathedral city club and Offenbach native Sava Arangel Cestic have officially opted to go their separate ways via a complete contract dissolution. It had long been rumored that the 20-year-old was on his way off the roster after not making a single appearance under Steffen Baumgart's coaching regime.

"After joint discussions, we have come to the conclusion that it was in the best interest of all parties to terminate the contract," Köln interim sporting director Jörg Jakobs noted in a statement, "This way Sava can reorient himself for the next steps in his career."

Out of contract, Cestic will now be available to anyone on a free transfer. The twice capped Serbian international moved from Schalke's Knappenschmiede to the Köln youth ranks in 2019. He did make 11 appearances for the Effzeh first team under previous trainer Markus Gisdol.

Teansfermarkt.de lists Hansa Rostock and SpVgg Greuther Fürth as potential destinations for the young center halve.
