Reports that Eintracht Frankfurt were interested in acquiring Croatian central defender Hrvoje Smolčić surfaced approximately two weeks ago. According to Germany's Sport Bild, the medical is passed and the deal is now done. Smolčić should be introduced as a summer transfer in the next few days.

The Croatian youth international will reportedly be purchased for some €2 million, two-thirds of his current market value as listed on transfermarkt. Sport Bild goes on to report that the 21-year-old is earmarked for the defensive role currently filled by Evan N'dicka.

There have been intermittent rumors that the SGE wishes to sell N'dicka for a transfer amount of over €20 million.
