Seoane: Dortmund move wouldn't be a "big next step" for Schick

Joining Borussia Dortmund wouldn't be "a big next step" for Patrik Schick, according to Bayer Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane.
After scoring 18 goals in 21 games for Bayer Leverkusen so far this season, Patrik Schick has been linked with a host of clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, who are looking for a potential replacement for Erling Haaland.

Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane, however, can't see why Schick should leave 'Die Werkself' for a move to Signal Iduna Park.

"Of course, with our work here at Leverkusen, we want to ensure that players do not consider a move to a direct league rival like Dortmund," Schick told Sport Bild.

"I believe Patrik Schick would think twice about leaving us for BVB. I don't think that would be a big next step for him."

"We have a strong foundation with very good players. Now we are taking the next step together. Everyone feels that something is emerging here, and we want to strengthen the team further."

Dortmund currently sit second in the Bundesliga – eight points clear of third-placed Leverkusen.
