Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is yet to discuss a new deal with the club, but is open to extending his contract beyond 2023.

"We haven't held any talks yet. But I've already extended my contract twice, also in times when things weren't going particularly well in sporting terms. So why shouldn't I do it now? At the moment I'm feeling very good and really enjoying leading this squad," Reus said in an interview with Bild ahead of Sunday's 2-5 defeat to BAyer Leverkusen.

Reus also offered a piece of advice for Erling Haaland, who is currently considering whether to leave Borussia Dortmund or stay beyond the summer.

Asked what he would say to Haaland, should the 21-year-old ask for his opinion, Reus replied:

"I would say: 'Stay with us, here you have everything you need to develop further.'

"Here he can play Champions League, score goals and feel valued to the maximum. He ultimately has to decide what feels best for him."
