Report: KSC striker Hofmann headed to Bochum
Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that KSC striker Philipp Hofmann is on the verge of a move to VfL Bochum.

This was reported on Monday by German tabloid Sport Bild.
Hofmann's current club has been quite protective of their prized asset over the past two years. Hofmann himself has often said that he did not wish to switch to another club unless the opportunity to play in the top division presented itself. Bochum, who look certain to avoid relegation this year, count as one such opportunity. The KSC striker will be available to the NRW club on a free via his expiring contract.
Hofmann recently marked his 100th competitive for the KSC. He marked the occasion by scoring his 50th goal for the BaWü club. Hofmann has scored 17 goals in the 2. Bundesliga this season. He's tied for second place in the league along with Robert Glatzel (HSV) Marvin Ducksch (Werder Bremen), and Guido Burgstaller (FC St. Pauli).
With an average of 0.59 goals per game, Hofmann trails only Ducksch and league leading goal-scorer Simon Terodde in terms of efficiency.
Sport Bild reports that Hofmann will sign a contract with the 1848ers through the end of the 2023/24 season.
The signing most like means that the contract of Jürgen Locadia--picked up on a free from Brighton & Hove Albion this January--will not be renewed.
