Gladbach's injury list grows

Injuries for Nico Elvedi and Alassane Plea have ruled them out for Matchday 6 along with Ko Itakura who's suspended.

Gladbach will now have to play without several top players when they travel to Freiburg this weekend. Nico Elvedi has sprained his ankle, while Alassane Plea is dealing with a muscle adductor strain. Stefan Lainer is also still injured and Ko Itakura received a one-game suspension after pulling down Mainz's Karim Onisiwo in the 53rd minute on Matchday 6.

Daniel Farke's side couldn't continue their unbeaten run to the season, recording only two shots on target against Mainz in their 1-0 loss. Especially with the absence of Plea, Farke may alter his 4-2-3-1 formation. Marvin Friedrich is likely to return to the starting lineup, while Julian Weigl could be awarded his first start as well.
