Frankfurt's courtship of a promising Ecuadorian center-back has finally resulted in a signing. Willian Pacho Tenorio inked a deal with the RheinMain Eagles good through 2028. Multiple German media sources are confirming a base transfer fee of about €9 million for the 21-year-old. Holland's "Het Laatste Nieuws" reports that Belgian side Royal Antwerp F.C. could pocket as much as €16 million if certain performance incentives are met.
Pacho's signing constitutes quite the coup for sporting director Markus Krösche and the SGE administrative team. The youngster could seemingly serve as a replacement for central defender Evan N'dicka, expected to depart this summer on a free. With so many other star players reportedly wishing to depart, Krösche and the front office team.
"For us, this is an important transfer for the coming season," Krösche noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "Willian is still young, but already brings international experience. Above all, his speed and tackling strength distinguish him."
