Bayern would reportedly let Nagelsmann become Germany coach for free
Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich are prepared to let Julian Nagelsmann out of his contract without receiving a fee if he agrees to become the new Germany coach.
Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly the German Football Association's preferred candidate to replace Hansi Flick as Germany coach.
Despite being sacked by Bayern in March, Nagelsmann remains under contract with the German champions until 2026.
This means that if the German Football Association and Nagelsmann want to work together, they would first have to reach an agreement with Bayern.
However, according to Sky Germany, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Although they would prefer to receive a transfer fee for Nagelsmann, Bayern don't want to put any obstacles in the way of the cash-strapped German Football Association, the German media outlet claims.
Nagelsmann currently earns a reported €5.5 million per season and Bayern are naturally keen to get him off their payroll.
Germany sporting director Rudi Völler described Nagelsmann as a "top coach" at a press conference yesterday.
