Report: DFB to hold talks with Nagelsmann and Sammer over Germany job

Julian Nagelsmann and Matthias Sammer are reportedly the leading candidates to become the new Germany coach, with The Telegraph reporting that the German Football Association is planning to hold talks with both in the near future.

The German Football Association (DFB) has apparently identified two concrete candidates to replace the recently sacked Hansi Flick as Germany coach.

According to the Telegraph, the DFB is planning to hold talks with Julian Nagelsmann and Matthias Sammer about the job in the near future.

Nagelsmann was dismissed by Bayern in March but remains under contract with the German champions until 2026.

According to a recent report from Sky Germany, Bayern would be willing to let Nagelsmann go without a transfer fee if it comes to that.

Sammer, who served as the DFB's sporting director between 2006 and 2012, is currently an advisor to Borussia Dortmund.

He's also part of the DFB's "task force" - an external group of advisors focused on the sporting future of the senior national team.
