Disaffected Colombian striker Rafael Santos Borré may have found a most unexpected way of avoiding a return to his parent club of Eintracht Frankfurt. Borré - currently working on loan at SV Werder Bremen - is reportedly on the verge of completing a transfer back to South America. Transfer experts Michael Rincón, Ekrem Konur, and Nicola Schira are all currently reporting on social media platform X (formerly twitter) that the 28-year-old will soon complete a switch to Brazilian club SC Internacional.

It remains unclear at this time as to whether the Brazilian club is negotiating with Eintracht or Werder. If the former is the case, Borré's loan in the Hanseatic City state may have to be terminated in order to complete the deal. Frankfurt could also negotiate a summer transfer, enabling Borré to complete the season at Werder. A third possibility might see Werder purchase Borré from the SGE, then finalize the transaction with the Brazilians in any number of ways.

Borré has socorred four league goals in 13 league appearances since the Werder loan enabled him to once again receive regular playing time. After having to make way for Randal Kolo Muani and Eintracht last season, the popular striker saw his estimated market worth decline from a peak of €20 million ahead of the 2022/23 campaign to €8 million in the latest transfermarkt update. Borré was considered one of the heroes of Frankfurt's 2021/22 Europa League title campaign.
