VfB Stuttgart have confirmed that Anthony Rouault's loan from Toulouse has been made permanent, with the centre-back now contracted to the Bundesliga club until 2027.

A purchase option in the 22-year-old's contract was activated when Stuttgart's place in next season's Bundesliga was mathematically confirmed over the weekend.

"Anthony has hardly needed any time to settle in, even though VfB is his first club outside his native France. He can play in various positions across the defence, he exudes calmness and has quickly developed into an important member of our squad," said Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.

"He’s also very eager to learn and still has a great deal of potential. We’re delighted that Anthony’s with us and that he’ll remain a VfB player beyond the summer."

Anthony Rouault commented:

"I’m very happy to continue playing for VfB in the future. The squad and the staff – not to mention the positive results – have helped me settle in. I’ve been well received and I’ve been able to gain important, positive experience here so far."
