Holstein Kiel captain Philipp Sander is set to join Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer, according to Sky Germany.

The German media outlet reports that Sander has agreed personal terms with Gladbach, and that there is nothing Kiel can do to stop the deal going through as the 26-year-old has a release clause in his contract.

Sander is enjoying a strong season with Holstein Kiel, having made 19 appearances for the North German side, who are second in the 2. Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old central midfielder is a product of the club's academy and has made 79 appearances for the first team, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists.
