SC Freiburg chief Fritz Keller has been appointed new president of the German Football Association (DFB).

The 62-year-old was unanimously elected DFB president for the upcoming three years on Friday in Frankfurt/Main.

"For many years, Fritz #Keller has been an advocate for professionalism, pragmatism and excellent leadership. I can sense his passion for the job and that he will put his heart and soul into it. He has big ambitions and a lot of energy. That will be good for us," said Germany coach Joachim Löw, as quoted by the DFB.

Keller succeeds Reinhard Grindel who stepped down from the position in April.
