Christopher Nkunku: 'I'm not running off to a bigger club'
Christopher Nkunku has stressed he has no plans of leaving RB Leipzig anytime soon.
After joining RB Leipzig from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Christopher Nkunku went on to play 42 games in his first season in Germany, scoring five goals and making 16 assits.
And the 22-year-old, who's under contract until 2024, is eager to continue his development at the Bundesliga side and insists he isn't thinking about a move away from Red Bull Arena.
"I haven't come to Leipzig just to disappear right away. I'm not running off to a bigger club. I want to win something with RB," Nkunku said in an interview with Sport Bild.
Nkunku is hoping that his teammate Dayot Upamecano, who has been stalling on a new deal, will stay as well. The 21-year-old's current deal expires in 2021, and RB Leipzig are likely to cash in on him this summer unless he puts pen to paper on a new contract.
"I keep telling him to extend his contract. The question is, will he listen? I expect him to stay in Leipzig, and I would be very pleased if he did. We have big plans, Dayot is a great guy and a super player," said Nkunku.
