Bild reports Leverkusen show 'great interest' in Julian Draxler, Sky claims he will stay

Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly very interested in signing Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer deadline, but a deal looks unlikely.
Bayer Leverkusen have a 'great interest' in signing Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain, according to Bild.

However, the parties look unlikely to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes later today as they are currently quite far apart financially.

According to Sky Germany, the 27-year-old attacking midfielder will stay at PSG beyond the transfer deadline.

Draxler, who has struggled to nail down a starting berth in the French capital after his move from Wolfsburg in 2017, was recently advised to consider finding a new club by Germany coach Joachim Löw.

"For Julian, at his age, it would be important to take a step to find regular playing time. It's important for every player to be in action week after week," Löw said last month.

Since then, however, Draxler har started four out of five games for the French champions, with whom he is under contract until next year.
