Wolfsburg crashed to a disappointing defeat against their bogey team by two goals to nil in a forgetful outing at home. The Wolves have now lost to three of the top five Bundesliga teams in just the last four matchweeks - against Frankfurt Bayern & Dortmund.

Speaking to the press after the match, coach Oliver Glasner reflected on the team’s shortcomings and cited ‘too many individual errors’ as the reason for the loss.
He said: “We’re obviously all very disappointed today. Unfortunately, we have to blame ourselves a bit again for the loss. We’ve simply made too many individual mistakes in these games."
Jude Bellingham’s red card meant Wolfsburg played with an extra player for about half an hour.
Speaking of which, Glasner said: “One thing we need to be a little critical of was that we didn’t take advantage of having an extra man. We wanted to get forward more down the wings and brought on an extra striker in Bartosz Bialek so that we’d have more of a presence in the box. But we didn’t do that very well.”
Glasner further praised Erling Haaland, who broke couple of records and dealt a huge blow to the Wolves with a brace.
“When you’re playing a top team like Dortmund with a quality striker like Erling Haaland, they only needed their one chance on the counter-attack.”
Wolfsburg sit in third place, with 57 points- two ahead of Dortmund. Both the clubs sandwich Frankfurt, who failed to snatch the third place after a 3-1 loss vs Bayer Leverkusen.
