Lukebakio joins Wolfsburg

Out of nowhere, VfL Wolfsburg have announced the capture of Dodi Lukebakio.
VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Dodi Lukebakio on loan from Bundesliga rivals Hertha BSC.

The 23-year-old forward has made the switch to Volkswagen Arena on a season-long loan deal.

"We are very pleased that Dodi has decided to join us in tackling the challenges that await us this season. We are convinced that he can help us achieve our goals with his qualities," said Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer.

Lukebakio, who scored in Hertha's 1-2 loss to Wolfsburg on Matchday 2, commented:

"VfL Wolfsburg are a great team in Germany. They impressed me with their team spirit in the past season and also most recently in the game at Hertha.

"I believe that I fit in very well with the team and can use my skills here to contribute in the best possible way. I'm very excited about the club and can't wait to start playing for VfL. And of course, it's an absolute dream for me to play in the Champions League with VfL."
