Swedish striker Sebastian Andersson should be on his way back from Antalya soon after Turkish club Antalyaspor declined to pick up the Köln attacker's persistent knee problems were not worth taking a chance on.

The 30-year-old barely featured for die Geißböcke last season after arriving in the cathedral city on a €6.5 million transfer from 1. FC Union Berlin. Andersson scored only three goals in 16 appearances during the 2020/21 campaign.

Reports of the failed medical began surfacing on the local Kölner Express' website late Tuesday morning. Germany's main sporting tabloid claims to have spoken director with Effzeh trainer Steffen Baumgart to confirm the rumor.

In the same discussion, Baumgart reportedly ruled out a possible deadline day transfer for heavily shopped midfielder Ellyes Skhiri.
