Official: Augsburg unveil Giannoulis

Dimitris Giannoulis has officially been unveiled as a new FC Augsburg player.

FC Augsburg have confirmed the signing of Dimitrios Giannoulis from English Championship side Norwich City.

The 28-year-old left-back has put pen to paper on a contract until 2028 with the Bundesliga outfit.

“My conversations with FC Augsburg were always really positive and I’m really happy that I was able to join up with the rest of the squad here for the training camp in South Africa," Giannoulis said.

“A training camp is always a good opportunity to get to know the team and to integrate quicker. Looking ahead to the new season, that was really important for me because I want to impress with my performances and hard work right away so that we can achieve our joint goals.”

Sporting director Marinko Jurendic added that Augsburg are “really pleased” about Giannoulis' arrival.

“He’s a dynamic, hard-running full-back, whose tough-tackling nature will help our defence, while he will also be able to add a new dimension to our attacking game,” Jurendic said.

“By signing Dimitrios, we’ve now got another option on the left side and believe we’ve got this position well covered now. We would like to wish Dimitrios a good start and all the best at FCA.”
