Harry Kane's pursuit of his first career trophy, for now, remains in the hands of his teammates. The 31-year-old will not receive his long-awaited chance to de-throne defending league and cup champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

After incurring an injury early in last night's 1-1 draw with Dortmund, FC Bayern München officially announced that a small muscle fiber tear will sideline the English superstar for the time being.

The Bundesliga's leading goal-scorer started all twelve league fixtures this season and, with 14 goals through 12 match-days, remains well on pace to collect his second consecutive top-scorer trophy.

Kane has collected two "flawless hat tricks" thus far in the campaign. In 19 fixtures across all competitions this year, Kane only failed to appear in the starting XI just once during Bayern's Pokal opener.
