Adil Aouchiche and Moussa N'Diaye have joined Schalke on deadline day as the traditional club keep pushing for a Bundesliga return. The 2. Bundesliga leaders have already completed the signings of Dejan Ljubičić and Edin Džeko in a strong January transfer window for the club.

Aouchiche signed a deal until the end of next season after his free transfer from Sunderland. The former PSG youth player spent the first half of the season on loan at Aberdeen FC. It was his second loan since joining Sunderland as he also had a spell with Portsmouth in the Championship.

The 23-year-old has played in the Conference League this season, although Aberdeen only finished the league phase with two points. The attacking midfielder still holds the record for most goals in a single U17 Euro tournament with nine in 2019. The Frenchman has also featured in 81 Ligue 1 games for PSG, AS Saint-Étienne, and Lorient.

Senegalese left-back N'Diaye is the other deadline day signing by Schalke. The 23-year-old arrived in an initial loan deal from Anderlecht. He has played for the Belgian giants 20 times in all competitions this season.

N'Diaye has featured in over 100 games for Anderlecht since joining them from Barcelona’s youth team in 2022. Aouchiche will wear the number 24, while the defender picked 16 for his shirt number.
