Sky: Hoffenheim consider van den Berg and Jenz in ongoing center back search
Mortiz Jenz | VfL Wolfsburg |
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim's search for central defenders has apparently broadened to include two more candidates. The Kraichgauer have been linked with a great many names within German football. Now, according to Sky Germany, a pair of players representing different Bundesliga clubs last season have been added to that list. Liverpool's Sepp van den Berg and Wolfsburg's Moritz Jenz are evidently in the TSG's focus.
Sky claims that Hoffenheim have joined a host of other clubs with interest in acquiring van den Berg. The Sinsheimers have initiated contact with the 22-year-old and his professional representation. Sky does take care to note that Hoffenheim haven't tendered a formal offer for van den Berg yet. Liverpool reportedly want €20 million for their player.
The German pay-TV channel also links German center back Jenz with a move to the TSG. The VfL defender faces a highly competitive situation with Ralph Hasenhüttl's green company team and might be amenable to a move that offers him better playing prospects. Jenz is worth an estimated €7.5 million according to the latest transfermarkt listings.
