Borussia Mönchengladbach will have to manage without Jens Castrop for the remainder of the season.
As the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed on Tuesday, the South Korea international has been handed a three-match suspension after being sent off in his side’s 0-0 draw with Wolfsburg at the weekend.
With only three Bundesliga matches left this season, the decision effectively rules him out for the rest of Die Fohlen’s campaign.
Castrop was shown a red card in stoppage time following a late challenge on Wolfsburg’s Saël Kumbedi.
It was the second red card of the season for the versatile 22-year-old, who was previously dismissed in October for a foul on FC Bayern’s Luis Díaz.
