Bundesliga will continue this weekend with some high-profile fixtures, including the Topspiel between FC Bayern and RB Leipzig. Here are some of the biggest talking points from matchday 6.

Wounded Eintracht aim first home win

Adi Hütter's second spell at Eintracht Frankfurt isn't going to according to plan as they conceded 16 goals in the first five matchdays. Their second 6-0 defeat at RB Leipzig in as many years worsened the situation as they continue to struggle for defensive stability.

Meanwhile, Köln have Rhine derby bragging rights with a 2-1 victory over bottom-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach on matchday 5. While Frankfurt target their first home win on Friday, Köln would be satisfied with their first point away from home.

Bayern and Dortmund to end winless streaks?

In a rare coincidence, both FC Bayern and Borussia Dortmund dropped points last week with 2-2 draws against Augsburg and Werder Bremen, respectively. Then, they both failed to return from Norway with three points in the Champions League.

The Rekordmeister will host RB Leipzig in matchday 6 Topspiel after their 3-3 draw against debutants Viking FK as Michael Olise will be desperate to make up for his costly red card. Meanwhile, Luis Diaz ended his six-game scoreless run after Harry Kane's brace in the space of six minutes.

Bayern failed to take advantage of Dortmund's late slump against Werder Bremen, but Freiburg climbed over Niko Kovac's side in the standings at the end of matchday 5. The Black and Yellows followed that up with a lackluster performance in their defeat to Bodø/Glimt.

Kovac's decision to rest key players against last season's quarter-finalists draws criticism after the game. The likes of Nico Schlotterbeck, Felix Nmecha and Serhou Guirassy are expected to return to the lineup when Dortmund face Union Berlin on Saturday. The side from the capital city earned their first win of the season last week with Livan Burcu's late goal against newcomers Elversberg.

Demichelis' return to Allianz Arena

For Martín Demichelis, RB Leipzig's trip to Allianz Arena will be a memorable occasion. The former Argentine defender won four domestic doubles with FC Bayern. Ahead of Saturday evening's game, the former FC Bayern II coach reminiscent about his time in Munich in an interview with the club's website.

Demichelis’ side went into the extended international break with a defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, but they have now regained momentum both in Bundesliga and Champions League with wins over Eintracht Frankfurt and PSV. After the 6-0 scoreline against Adi Hütter's side, they will hope it'll not be their turn to concede half a dozen as Vincent Kompany’s men scored 11 goals in their two Bundesliga duels against Ole Werner’s Leipzig.

Leverkusen host leaders Freiburg after success in Europe for both sides

SC Freiburg extended their brilliant start to the season with a 3-2 win over Jablonec, despite several changes in the lineup by the centurion Julian Schuster for the Conference League opener. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen made it two from two in Europa League as Patrik Schik scored a first-half penalty-kick brace against Lech Poznan after replacing the injured Martin Terrier.

The former Czechia international is in a top form at the start of the season, with Leverkusen cruising following a false start in Elversberg. If they keep that up against the new league leaders, they can level Schuster's men on points this Sunday. For Freiburg, it's another opportunity to prove that they can compete for a first-ever Champions League qualification.

Gladbach desperate to end losing streak against struggling Hoffenheim

The final game of the matchday will see two out-of-form sides lock horns at Borussia-Park. Alexander Blessin was unable to stop Borussia Mönchengladbach's losing streak in his debut against derby rivals Köln, while Hoffenheim suffered their fourth defeat in the row after a 3-2 reverse against Beskitas in Europa League on Thursday.

After competing for a Champions League place until the final matchday last term, Christian Ilzer's side are now only above their Sunday hosts in the Bundesliga standings. Last season's duels between the sides ended in four-goal margin victories for the home teams.
