Report: Bayern to offload two stars if Nagelsmann returns

Bayern Munich will reportedly look to offload Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry if Julian Nagelsmann returns as their coach.

A clear favorite has emerged in Bayern's search for a new coach, with several sources reporting that Julian Nagelsmann is leading the race to succeed Thomas Tuchel this summer.

According to Sport Bild, talks between Nagelsmann and the Bavarians are so advanced that they're discussing ideas for changing the squad for next season.

The report goes on to claim that Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry top the list of players Nagelsmann wants to offload should he return to the club he coached between July 2021 and March 2023.

During his first spell at the club, the coach is said to have complained to then-bosses Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic that the players were not implementing his ideas on the pitch.

As a result, Nagelsmann's talks with board member for sport Max Eberl involved which players he would like to offload in order to create the best possible basis for putting his ideas into practice.
