Newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit FC St. Pauli have confirmed the signing of Morgan Guilavogui on loan.

The 26-year-old striker joins the German club from RC Lens.

"With his physical presence Morgan Guilavogui adds a new facet to our attack," said St. Pauli director of sport Andreas Bornemann.

"His combination of size, power and pace makes him a threat both on the ground and in the air. He's also a good link-up player, which makes him an exact fit for the requirements we had identified in this position."

Morgan Guilavogui, who scored two goals in 23 Ligue matches last season, commented:

"I'm convinced an exciting challenge awaits me at FC St. Pauli. From my brother I know the Bundesliga is on a very high level and the opportunity to compete with teams and players in this category is a very exciting prospect. The task now is to settle in quickly because I want to make the best possible use of my strengths to ensure we play a good role in the league."
