St. Pauli updates: Welsh defender set to sign, club boss confirms interest in Guilavogui

Online sports journal "the Athletic" reports that newly promoted Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli are set to acquire FC Brentford's Fin Stevens.

In other St. Pauli related transfer news, sporting director Andreas Bornemann has confirmed the club's interest in Morgan Guilavogui.

Welsh international Fin Stevens is reportedly on the verge of moving to newly promoted Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli. Online sports journal "the Athletic" reports that the 21-year-old's EPL club Brentford FC have accepted a €1 million purchase offer. The right-back/midfielder has recently been loaned out in back-to back seasons by "The Bees". He found regular playing time in League One with Oxford United last year.

In other St. Pauli related transfer news, club sporting director Andreas Bornemann has openly confirmed St. Pauli's interest in French striker Morgan Guilavogui. Speaking to Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid, Bornemann noted that the younger brother of former VfL Wolfsburg captain Joshua Guilavogui remained the "preferred option" for the front office's quest to shore up the attacking ranks.

"[Guilavogui] is a great player," Bornemann told the newspaper, "I've made no secret of the fact that he fits our profile very well. He is tall, but also agile and can make the deep runs. Various things have to come together. [We'll] use all tools available at our disposal to work out the details."
