Reports: Leverkusen's Azmoun headed to Dubai

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano and Germany's preeminent footballing publication are currently reporting that German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen have found a taker for Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun

Disaffected Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun - according to two reliable sources - will soon be moving to the U.A.E. The 29-year-old was recently suspended by his German club Bayer 04 Leverkusen following a training boycott. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano and Germany's Kicker Magazine both report that Azmoun is in en-route to Dubai ahead of a move to Shabab Al-Ahli, where he will be coached by former BVB professional Paulo Sousa.

Leverkusen are set to net a significant amount of money for their striker. Kicker claims that Germany's red company team will pocket between €6 and €7 million. The German champions themselves were able to acquire Azmoun on the cheap from Zenit St. Petersburg in January of 2022. At the time, the Iranian star cost the Germans just €2.5 million despite having an estimated market worth of €25 million.

Azmoun departs German football having scored five Bundesliga goals in 32 league appearances. He spent the last season on loan at AS Roma. The Serie A side declined to exercise their purchase option in the loan agreement. Amid all the injury and performances related issues of the past two-plus years, the forward's estimated market worth has sunk to €8 million in the latest transfermarkt listings.
