Confirmed: Mainz send Ajorque back to France

French striker Ludovic Ajorque's move away from FSV Mainz 05 has been confirmed.

The rumored move of Ludovic Ajorque away from Mainz has been officially confirmed; albeit in a different form than was initially reported. The 30-year-old will not be sold outright to Ligue 1's Stade Brest, but rather loaned out to the French club with an option to buy. It's reasonable to assume that the €4 million transfer fee previously reported on is, in fact, the amount of the purchase clause.

“Ludovic Ajorque approached us with the desire for a change and, after carefully considering the matter, we have complied," FSV sporting CEO Christian Heidel noted in a statement, "We would like to thank Ludo, whom we got to know here not only as a good footballer but also as a fine person, from the bottom of our hearts for his commitment to Mainz 05 and wish him all the best for his time in Brest."

My time at Mainz 05 was a really great experience for myself and my family," the player himself added, "I was very happy to be part of this club and will solely recall the good times. Thank you for everything, I wish all 05ers the best.”
