According to Matteo Moretto, Everton showed interest in signing Christian Kofane from Bayer Leverkusen. The transfer journalist mentioned the Premier League club explored whether a move would be possible this summer.

Kofane was impressive in his debut season in Germany, including his performances against Arsenal in the Champions League knockout stage. Leverkusen signed the striker for a little over €5 million from Albacete.

Transfermarkt valued him at €40 million after he scored seven goals in all competitions last season. Everton avoided relegation with ease last term as David Moyes rotated Thierno Barry and Beto up front.
