Favre the latest coach to be linked with Bayern

Kicker reports that Lucien Favre's name has been brought up in Bayern Munich's search for a new coach.

Now that it's clear that Xabi Alonso and Julian Nagelsmann will not be taking over as Bayern Munich coach, the two apparent favorites are out of the picture.

The latest name to be linked to the job is former Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre.

The 66-year-old, who worked with Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl at Gladbach, is being discussed as a possible one-year interim solution, according to Kicker.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery now appears to be the favorite, with Kicker reporting that Bayern have already held talks with the Spaniard.

However, it's uncertain if Emery would be willing to leave the Premier League side, with the 52-year-old recently stating that he is "100 percent focused on Aston Villa".

According to Kicker, Roberto De Zerbi and Zinedine Zidane are no longer being considered by the Bavarians.
