Harry Kane made history on Tuesday as he equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps for England, and the Bayern Munich forward did it in style, bagging a brace in his side’s 3-0 win over Czechia.
After the game, Kane’s teammate Jude Bellingham had plenty of praise for the Bayern forward, describing him as the best player to have ever represented England.
“I can only really talk from my perspective and that's that he's, first and foremost, an unbelievable human being,” Bellingham told ITV.
“As a captain, as a man, he looks after each and every single person, he's the one to always take responsibility when something needs doing off the pitch.
“Then on the pitch, you're running out of superlatives - he's the best England player that has ever worn the shirt and it's an honour to play with him," added the Real Madrid midfielder
At 33, Kane is playing at the highest level of his career so far, according to Bellingham.
“I think you'd have to say so. He's playing at a level which is pretty unmatched when you look across the world,” he said.
"He's scoring goals for fun, still dropping deep and delivering those passes in behind and wide, and contributing in so many areas... and he's getting back as well, tackles and everything!
“He's only getting better, so we'll have to use that for as long as we can.”
