Kiel skipper Sander confirms summer departure

Speaking to the Sky microphones following last night's victory, Holstein Kiel captain Philipp Sander has confirmed that he will be moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach next year.

Holstein Kiel skipper Philipp Sander addressed rumors that he will be moving to Borussia Mönchengladbach while speaking to the Sky microphones after last night's confirmation that his 2. Bundesliga team had been promoted to the top flight. The 26-year-old's departure from the club had already been confirmed by club managing director Carsten Wehlmann in March.

Sander called his departure an "open secret" whilst conducting a post-match interview. As is commonly the case with promoted clubs, some of the roster's more promising players will be headed elsewhere next season. Wehlmann - who interestingly enough last served as sporting director for promoted side SV Darmstadt 98 - will be tasked with building the roster for the coming challenge.
