Bayer Leverkusen are looking to earn their second European three points of the season as they face Lech Poznan on Thursday.
Die Werkself have had a hit-and-miss start to the season, but now sit fourth in the Bundesliga after their 4-3 win against Mainz on Saturday.
Carles Martinez's side raced to a 2-0 lead early on before they were pegged back at the Mewa Arena.
But goals from Jarell Quansah and Mousa Diaby put Leverkusen on course for three points in the second half, making Phillip Tietz's late strike little more than a consolation.
Their Polish opponents are looking to recover from a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on opening night, while they sit second in the Ekstraklasa, three points behind Gornik Zabrze with a game in hand.
Team news and predicted lineups
On the injury front, Martinez is going through quite a frustrating period, with the Spaniard still without multiple players.
Eliesse Ben Seghir and Guele Doue should be set to return in the coming weeks, alongside Montrell Culbreath and Christian Kofane.
However, Kennet Eichhornis return remains uncertain, as the young starlet looks to finally make a name for himself in the Bundesliga after his summer move from Hertha.
Poznan are without Radoslaw Murawski, who is suspended, while left-back Joao Moutinho and Ali Gholizadeh remain injured until the new year.
