Mallorca sign Morey and Asano

Two Bundesliga professionals from Ruhr rivals VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund have signed with La Liga side RCD Mallorca in the last 24 hours.

Oft-injured Borussia Dortmund fullback Mateu Morey will receive a chance to revive his career in his native country. La Lisa's RCD Mallorca confirmed a one-year for the 24-year-old on Friday. A slew of hard luck injuries limited Morey to just 21 BVB Bundesliga appearances over the last five seasons. He made three league appearances for Edin Terzic's team this past season. After the campaign concluded, Dortmund confirmed he would not be re-signed.

There was more big news involving a Bundesliga player and the Spanish club breaking on Saturday afternoon. Popular Japanese attacker Takuma "Jaguar" Asano will also be continuing his career with "Los Bermellones". The 29-year-old too was permitted to depart his Bundesliga club VfL Bochum on an expiring contract. For a time there was some talk of Asano returning to his former club of VfB Stuttgart, but the rumors were quickly quashed.

Asano leaves German football having scored 20 goals in 148 appearances across all competitions for Bochum, Stuttgart, and Hannover 96. He netted seven goals and registered an assist for the Revierklub in 32 appearances across all competitions this past year. Asano's cult-status within German footballing circles was further enhanced this past December with famous involvement in a protest scene in Gladbach.
