Sippel to stay in goal for Gladbach against RB Leipzig

With Jonas Omlin and Jan Olschowsky still out, Tobias Omlin will stay in goal for Gladbach against RB Leipzig.
Gladbach coach Daniel Farke confirmed on Thursday that Tobias Sippel will remain in goal against RB Leipzig, while Jonas Omlin (hamstring strain) and Jan Olschowsky (stomach virus) remain sidelined.

Sitting alongside Farke, Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus praised the 34-year-old veteran and revealed that talks are underway to extend his contract beyond the summer.

"I was happy that Tobi Sippel put in a great performance against Freiburg. We're confident in his abilities as a goalkeeper. We're talking to him about his future. When we have something to tell you, we will do so," said Virkus.

As for who will deputise for the suspended Ramy Bensebaini at left-back, Farke made no secret of the fact that Luca Netz is an option to start.

"Luca Netz has improved over the course of the season and is making his mark in training. He's still a young player and of course he's going to make mistakes, but he's still on a great path and is certainly an option to start the upcoming games."
