Galatasaray vs. Bayern Munich preview: Team news and predicted lineups
Here is our preview of Tuesday's Champions League group stage clash between Galatasaray and Bayern Munich, including predicted lineups.
Bayern Munich will be looking to make it three wins from three in this year's edition of the Champions League when they travel to Istanbul to take on Galatasaray on Tuesday evening.
The statistics certainly point in Bayern's favor, with the German champions sitting two points clear of Galatasaray at the top of Group B, having won their last 15 Champions League group stage matches.
Galatasaray are no pushovers, however, with the Turkish giants having won their last six games in all competitions and yet to lose a game this season.
Thomas Tuchel's men come into the game on the back of a 3-1 win over Mainz, in which Leon Goretzka starred with a goal and an assist. Unfortunately for Bayern, the midfielder picked up a hand injury that will keep him out of the Galatasaray game.
Dayot Upamecano, Raphael Guerreiro and Serge Gnabry are also definite absentees, but Noussair Mazraoui is back in the squad after taking part in training on Monday.
If deemed fit enough, Mazraoui could start on the right side of defense, with Konrad Laimer moving to central midfield in Goretzka's absence.
Manuel Neuer has been training in recent weeks and is making progress in his recovery from the broken leg he suffered in December, but is not expected to be back in goal until the weekend against Darmstadt, with Sven Ulreich set to remain between the sticks against Galatasaray.
Coming off a 2-1 win over Besiktas in which Mauro Icardi scored a brace, Galatasaray have no injury or suspension concerns for Tuesday's clash with Bayern.
