Kicker Report: Hoffenheim fear Berisha has sustained ACL tear

Michael Pfeifer of Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are fearing the worst with respect to an injury to striker Mërgim Berisha.
The official line from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim holds that newly-acquired striker Mërgim Berisha is merely undergoing "further examinations" in the interest of precisely diagnosing a recently sustained knee injury. German footballing journalist Michael Pfeifer of the Bundesrepublik's preeminent footballing publication - citing his own sources - claims that the twice-capped German national team attacker looks to have incurred an ACL tear. Such an injury could sideline him for the rest of the season.

Berisha - who moved to Kraichgau from Augsburg near the end of the recent autumn transfer window - is certainly not available to play against his former club this weekend. Berisha moved to Hoffenheim from Augsburg in the hopes of furthering his international career. The 25-year-old, behind starting strikers Maximilian Beier and Wout Weghorst on the depth chart, has made just six substitute league appearances and one start in the cup.
