Report: Bayern join race for Führich while keeping Frimpong, Koné, and Zubimendi in focus

Germany's main sporting tabloid reports that Max Eberl, Christoph Freund, and the rest of the FC Bayern München front office are keen on bringing breakout Stuttgart star Chris Führich to the Säbener Straße this offseason.

The Bundesrepublik's "Sport Bild" paper also lists Jeremie Frimpong (Leverkusen), Manu Kouadio Koné (Borussia Mönchengladbach), and Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad) as specific candidates the FCB administrative team are interested in.

The likes of Dortmund, Leipzig, and Leverkusen may soon have to contend with the ultimate competitor in the race to acquire VfB Stuttgart attacker Chris Führich. Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid reports that FC Bayern München are also keen on acquiring the 26-year-old, who is expected to earn a fresh audition with the German national team over the coming international break.

In a report published today, the German paper also notes that newly installed board member for sport Max Eberl is targeting several players currently working at other top tier German sides. Leverkusen wingback Jeremie Frimpong and French midfielder Manu Koné form Eberl's former club of Borussia Mönchengladbach are specifically listed as candidates.

When it comes to the search for a midfielder capable of operating as a "holding six", the tabloid claims that Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund will actively search for such a player despite the fact that the loudest vocal proponent of procuring such a piece, FCB trainer Thomas Tuchel, will be departing the club at the end of the season. The FCB front office, per the paper, have a specific candidate in mind.

Sport Bild reports that Eberl and Freund wish to aim for Real Sociedad San Sebastián defensive midfielder Martin Zubimendi. The Spanish international may be brought in to work alongside the man many assume to be installed as Bayern's next head-coach, current Leverkusen trainer Xabi Alonso. The 25-year-old could be had for (according to Spain's "Marca" daily) at exit clause totaling around €60 million.
